Matthew 11:12-30

The Gospel of Matthew

Session 25 – 3/16/2014

Rev. Dr. Christopher T. Metropulos

Matthew 11:12-30

John and Jesus are Rejected

Jesus praises John as a man who is not an insubstantial reed, blown about by the winds of popularity, but a man of principle, moved by no one’s threats. John the Baptist is pivotal to the closing of the Old Testament and the bringing in of the New Testament.

Woe to the cities of Galilee- Woe to you proud cities.

Being near or in the city where Christ performed His miracles is no security for a good and blessed life

Jesus turns on Capernaum

I praise you O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You hid these things from the wise and insightful and revealed them to babes.

His load is light, for He interprets the Law truly and does not load men down with the burdens God never expected His children to bear.
