Our Story
Our Community welcomes all of you to St. Demetrios Church, which has been serving Eastern Orthodox Christians in the Tri-County area since 1959. At that time, the initial founders could not have imagined that the little community they started would grow to this extent, and through its many ministries would meet the spiritual needs of many communicants of the area and of many visitors.
Clergy and Staff
The Priest, as the servant/leader, oversees the entire life of the local parish cooperatively with the Parish Council, assisted by the office staff, chanters, choir custodian and the many, many volunteers with whose help anything and everything is possible.
The Parish Council
The Parish Council, under the guidance of the Priest, is the body that manages and oversees all operations of the Church and Parish Community. Its duties include: administering the Parish’s operating procedures, business concerns, and fund-raising activities.
Ladies Philoptochos
Philoptochos is a nationally chartered women’s organization promoting charitable, benevolent and philanthropic outreach on an international, national, and local level.
