Weekly Sunday Bulletin – 10th Sunday of Luke

St. Spyridon

O Father, God-bearer, Spyridon, you were proven a champion and Wonder Worker of the First Ecumenical Council. You spoke to the girl in the grave and turned the serpent to gold. And, when chanting your prayers, most sacred One, angels ministered with you. Glory to Him who glorified you; glory to Him who crowned you; glory to Him who, through you, works healing for all

GOYANs in Attendance!

Our first GOYA meeting of the year was attended by many of our youth and parents with an overwhelming sense of excitement and hopes.

We had our first GOYA meeting on Sunday, September 22 during which office elections took place. Our 2013-2014 GOYA officers are as follows:

President – Erini Chong

Vice-President – Demetri Spiliotis

Recording Secretary – Katerina Petosa

Corresponding Secretary – Alyssa Demetriou

Historian – Nicholas Stratoudakis

Treasurer – Nicholas Metropulos

Saturday September 28th we will have our first District G.O.Y.A. event of this year hosted by both St. Sophia & St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Churches. The Survivor Retreat will be held at St. Andrew’s Church in Kendall beginning Saturday, September 28th in the morning and ending that evening.

If your GOYAN plans to participate, please have your payment of $20 with you. If you are paying by check, please make check payable to “St. Andrews GOYA”

Please reply to George Stratoudakis via email as soon as you can to let inform him whether or not your child is planning to attend so that we can put together a preliminary count and coordinate the transportation details for this event. You will note that there are three options for transportation (including an East Broward & West Broward Drop-Off point or a Parent transfer option).

If you select East Broward, the meeting location will be at St. Demetrios Church. For West Broward, we will be meeting at George Stratoudakis home. Please contact him for driving directions.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach George by phone/text (954) 448-3683 or return email.

Thank you in advance for your prompt responses – and we look forward to working with you to help our children have a memorable year.

Our next meeting will be held on Sunday, October 13th. We are currently working on having a social night on October Friday the 18th or 25th so keep your eyes and ears open for the final decision.
