For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.Mark 10:45
Dearly beloved,
Cristos Anesti! Christ is Risen!
On behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios and the revered members of the Eparchial Synod, I would like to convey to you the heartfelt appreciation of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America for your generous donation of $765.00 to the Relief Fund for the People of Cyprus. As you very well know, thousands of individuals have lost their jobs and people are in desperate need of critical assistance until they and the nation can recover. We give thanks to the Almighty God for blessing our Archdiocese with people like you who respond in times of need and offer a helping hand to those less fortunate.
In the Encyclical for the Support of the People of Cyprus, His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios said that “through our compassionate and dedicated response to the needs of these beloved people, light will shine in the darkness and fear will be dispelled by the power of God’s grace. We are called to offer from our abundance so that those in need may find relief, comfort, and renewed hope.” We are extremely grateful for your immediate answer to this “call”, which makes it possible for our Church here in the United States to give hope and tangibly respond to the urgent needs of the countless people in Cyprus who are suffering hardship.
Once again, thank you for your act of kindness, which I know is an expression of your sincere concern and desire to help the people impacted by the unfortunate situation in Cyprus. The grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the love of God and Father and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. AMEN.
Faithfully in the Service of our Lord
