Weekly Sunday Bulletin – Palm Sunday

Palm SundayApril 5, 2015

The Saviour has come today to the city of Jerusalem, to fulfill the Scriptures; and all have taken palms into their hands and spread their garments before Him, knowing that He is our God, to whom the cherubim sing without ceasing;     Hosanna in the highest. Blessed are You who shows great compassion: have mercy upon us.

Weekly Sunday Bulletin – St. Mary of Egypt

St. Mary of EgyptMarch 29, 2015

O Christ, the power of your Cross has worked wonders for Mary of Egypt; she had been a harlot and has now become an example and ideal of ascetic life. Casting off the weakness of nature, she has bravely fought Satan. Now, as a saint in heaven, she has obtained the prize of victory and intercedes for our souls. Amen.

Weekly Sunday Bulletin – Sunday of St. John Climacus

Sunday of St. John ClimacusMarch 22, 2015

O John our father, saint of God, you were revealed as a citizen of the desert, as an angel in a body and a worker of miracles. Through fasting, prayer and vigils you have received heavenly gifts of grace, and have healed the sick and the souls of those who turn to you with faith. Glory be to Him who gave you strength; glory to Him who crowned you; glory be to Him who through you grants to all men healing.

Weekly Sunday Bulletin – Forgiveness Sunday

Cheesefare SundayFebruary 22, 2015

Before we enter the Lenten fast, we are reminded that there can be no true fast, no genuine repentance, no reconciliation with God, unless we are at the same time reconciled with one another. A fast without mutual love is the fast of demons. . . We do not travel the road of Lent as isolated individuals but as members of a family.

Weekly Sunday Bulletin – Judgement Sunday

Judgement SundayFebruary 15, 2015

“It is the aim of the holy Fathers, through bringing to mind that fearful day, to rouse us from the slumber of carelessness unto the work of virtue, and to move us to love and compassion for our brethren. Besides this, even as on the coming Sunday of Cheese-fare we commemorate Adam’s exile from the Paradise of delight — which exile is the beginning of life as we know it now — it is clear that today’s is reckoned the last of all feasts, because on the last day of judgment, truly, everything of this world will come to an end

Ten Lepers

Having met the Savior, therefore, the lepers earnestly besought Him to free them from their misery, and called Him Master, that is. Teacher. No one pitied them when suffering this malady, but He Who had appeared on earth for this very reason, and had become man that He might show pity to all, He was moved with compassion for them, and had mercy on them.
