Participate in Youth Stewardship

Thanks to our amazing young stewards and to their participation in the Youth Stewardship Program, we are able to share with everyone how much our young members contribute to our community and church.   Your weekly logs give us valuable information that we hope to use to improve our youth programs and services as well as offer well earned recognition to each of you who give so much of yourself to your community.

YOUTH STEWARDSHIP REMINDER!!!

  • Remember to enter these activities in your logs and get signatures:
    • Divine Liturgy – ask a Parish Council Member to sign the form for you after you light your candle on Sunday
    • Altar  – Ask Father John to sign this for you
    • CHOIR – this is one way young ladies may earn additional spiritual credit!
    • Epistles Reading
    • Flavors of Greece Volunteer other than dance
    • Flavors of Greece – participated and enjoyed the festival = Fellowship Credit!
    • Ionian Village participant  – please list year and month you participated
    • St Stephen’s Camp participant – please list year and month you participated
    • St Demetrios Family Night held on  Sept 30
    • If you attend the St Demetrios Feast Day Dance, you earn a Fellowship credit
    • St Demetrios Feast Day Church Service  – Spiritual
    • St Andrew’s Festival coming up – Fellowship credit
    • Christmas Play rehearsals – Service
    • Christmas Play participant (actor, reader, helper) – Service
    • If you attend the Divine Liturgy at another church, get that on your log and signed by someone working in the Narthex there
    • Any service performed outside of church that has been signed with a phone number
  • These activities do not have to be entered on your log – the teachers, advisors will take attendance:

    • You need to participate in at least 4 other spiritual activities in addition to participating in the Divine Liturgy, Sunday School and Oratorical.

Flowers for the Panagia

The Icon of the Dormition of the Holy Theotokos is adorned with flowers for the Paraklesis Services. If anyone wishes to make a donation for the health of their loved ones, please call the church office at 954-467-1515. The flowers cost $35.00 and the garland is $175.

Paraklesis services will be held Friday, Aug. 2, Wednesday Aug. 7, Friday, Aug. 9, and Monday Aug. 12 at 6:30pm and Divine Liturgy on August 15th at 9:00am.

Executive Assistant

OCN is currently seeking an experienced part-time assistant for the Executive Director. The successful applicant will have excellent telephone manners, the ability to meet deadlines with a minimum of supervision, and solid organizational skills. Tasks will include, but not be limited to, assisting with correspondence, interacting with the OCN Board of Directors, making telephone calls, compiling mailings, and completing administrative projects of various types. The Assistant will work three mornings per week at the Network’s offices in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. To be considered for this position, please submit a resume and cover letter detailing pertinent work experience to frchris@myocn.net.

Donor Relations Team Assistant

OCN is currently seeking a confident self-starter with excellent telephone manners to assist in the area of Donor Relations. The Assistant will work three mornings per week at the Network’s offices in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The primary function of this position is to make 20-30  telephone calls per working day, keep detailed records on the results of each call, and perform  follow-up as directed. To be considered for this position, please submit a resume and cover letter detailing pertinent work experience to frchris@myocn.net.
