Archpastoral Visit of Archbishop Demetrios

His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America will be with us the weekend of Nov 16 for Great Vespers at 7pm followed by fellowship and then on Sunday Orthros at 9 followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 and then a parish wide luncheon honoring the Retired Clergy of America at $25 a ticket. The celebration will highlight the anniversary of the founding of the National Retired Clergy Association of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

Because of the limited seating for this event , only ticket holders will be able to stay for the luncheon. Please purchase your tickets today . Please see Dee Hopwood and Demetra Tzaneteas in the community center.

Usher Committee

Looking for volunteers to assist the parish council to ensure an orderly process during communion , the passing of the tray and the feast days of the church . Please contact the church office.

White Elephant Sale

The Cancer Chapter would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for everyone’s generous support of last weekend’s White Elephant Sale. A special thank you goes to all the volunteers that made this fundraising event a success. Your contributions go toward funding cancer research and our hopes and prayers are directed to those who are finding cures and treatments to eradicate this devastating disease. Thank you.

American Hellenic Institute Foundation

A conference will be held in Miami, Florida at the Conrad Hilton Miami, 1395 Brickell Avenue on Saturday, November 23, 2013.

The aims of this annual conference are to provide an opportunity for analysis , critical evaluation and reflection on Hellenism and its application and meaning to the Greek American and American Community today. For more information please pick up a brochure in the south narthex.

Brown Bag Food Drive

The Daughters of Penelope annual food drive is to benefit the Co-operative Food Bank of Broward County. In lieu of brown paper grocery bags, you may donate Publix gift cards or cash. P lease give it to Dee Hopwood or the church office no later than Nov. 24th. We will gladly do the shopping for you. All bags should be returned to the main social hall. Thank you for feeding a family in need and more so now.

GOYA Turkey Raffle

Please support our youth with their annual turkey raffle. Purchase a ticket for a chance to win one of 4 turkeys. Date of drawing November 17 after services in the community center (need not be present to win).

Order of Saint Andrew, Archons of the Ecumenical Patriachate

On December 4 and 5, 2013, the Archons will be sponsoring a Second International Religious Freedom Conference in Berlin, Germany titled Tearing Down Walls: Achieving Religious Equality in Turkey and will bring together politicians, diplomats, etc to discuss religious freedom.
