Archpastoral Visit of Archbishop Demetrios
We welcome His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America as we celebrate the Divine Liturgy This is his second visit to the parish since he was enthroned as the Archbishop of America. The 25th Anniversary Celebration of the Founding of the Retired Clergy Association of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America will take place following the celebration of the Divine Liturgy with a Special Luncheon and Presentation in the Church Community Center. Archons, Members of Leadership 100, and faithful parishioners from around the country will also attend the Liturgy and the Luncheon to honor the heroes of our Church in America who laid the foundation for our Church in this hemisphere.
Because of the limited seating for this event , only ticket holders will be able to stay for the luncheon. Please purchase your tickets today. Please see Dee Hopwood and Demetra Tzaneteas in the community center.
Archangel Michael Award Winners
On behalf of St. Demetrios, it is an honor to announce this year’s Archangel Michael Award recipients. On Saturday, November 9, Lora Fossler the adult recipient and Evalana Metropulos the youth recipient attended the Archangel Michael Feast and Honors Weekend to receive their award.
Boxes of Hope
Please help our Sunday School Youth fill some shoeboxes for kids at the The Children’s Home Society. Join us as we work to share the Joy of Giving and Christ’s birth with children in need. Each Sunday school participant is asked to fill one shoebox with some suggested items. Please pick up a flier in the south narthex for more information.
General Assembly November 24
The Fall GENERAL ASSEMBLY meeting is Sunday, November 24, immediately following the Divine Liturgy.
We would like to remind you, if you desire to participate in the discussion and voting at this Assembly, that your Stewardship obligation to the Church for the year 2013 must be current through October 31, 2013.

Festival News
Thank you to all the parishioners who attended the recent Festival Forum. The Festival Committee received many useful recommendations and suggestions to make the 2014 Festival the best ever. If you were unable to attend, we welcome your comments and recommendations. Please email them to carras@bellsouth.net by November 30th.
Brown Bag Food Drive
The Daughters of Penelope annual food drive is to benefit the Co-operative Food Bank of Broward County. In lieu of brown paper grocery bags, you may donate Publix gift cards or cash. P lease give it to Dee Hopwood or the church office no later than Nov. 24th. We will gladly do the shopping for you. All bags should be returned to the main social hall. Thank you for feeding a family in need and more so now.

Order of Saint Andrew, Archons of the Ecumenical Patriachate
On December 4 and 5, 2013, the Archons will be sponsoring a Second International Religious Freedom Conference in Berlin, Germany titled Tearing Down Walls: Achieving Religious Equality in Turkey and will bring together politicians, diplomats, etc to discuss religious freedom.
