A Devoted Heart

Hello dear friends of “A Devoted Heart” Xristos Anesti!

I pray you all had a blessed Pascha.  I am delighted to return to our Bible study, as we continue our series in the Lord’s Prayer.  This Sunday, we will be studying what Jesus was teaching us to say in this petition of seven words, “Give us this day our daily bread.” One might ask, why do we have to ask God for what we need if He already knows everything about us?

What is this “bread” Jesus is referring to?

We know that Jesus referred to Himself as the bread of life in John 6:35, Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life.  Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”  So we can already infer from this scripture that this petition goes beyond us asking for mere food.

Come join us upstairs from 12-1 as we unravel why asking God for “bread” creates a conversation between Him and us; a relationship that both God and us were created to have with one another.

For His Glory alone,

Helena and Christian
