Women’s Bible Study

For the month of February, “A Devoted Heart” will be meeting just this Sunday, Feb. 1st for our Bible Study then we will break for festival activities and recovery and reconvene again on March 1st.

This Sunday we will be studying from

Luke 17:11-19

Jesus Heals Ten Men With Leprosy

11 Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance 13 and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”

14 When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.

15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.

17 Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” 19 Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”

Ladies, as we are preparing to enter into the Lenten season, we must do a heart check.

Do you have a grateful heart towards God?

Have you remembered to thank God daily for the many blessings, both seen and unseen, in your children’s, your family’s, and your life?

As we gather and share on Sunday, we will discuss what a gracious heart looks like and how a grateful heart towards God can constantly express itself no matter what life may “try” to throw at us.

In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18

May I encourage you this week that you do not live underneath any negative circumstance or situation in your life, but you rise above them through the power of Jesus Christ in you! You use the circumstance or situation as a stepping stone to draw you closer into a personal intimate relationship our Father in Heaven desires for you to have with Him.

You may say, “but Helena this _______ is going on in my life, how can I be grateful for that?”

So I share this revelation from God to me from my own personal experience.  You are not to be grateful for the negative situation, circumstance or trial you have walked through or are walking through now or possibly will walk through in the future but you ARE to be grateful that the One who knows all, controls all, and sees all is right there with you, walking with you THROUGH that circumstance.  He is holding your hand, walking with you and even at times carrying you and your broken heart.

It is my prayer for you that you would be strengthened today, that although your life may not look like what you thought or hoped it would be, know this: God is not caught off guard by how your life looks.  He is not surprised by where you are or what has happened.  Just remember… He is not done with you yet. Until the day He calls us home in Heaven, He is constantly refining us as living vessels for His Glory!  Only a cracked vase shows the beautiful light shining within it!
